Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation techniques to achieve altered state of consciousness called the theta brain waves (please, read more on this topic in my article ‘Hypnosis...Shall I be afraid? A Beginner’s Guide to the Brain’s Secret Reset Button’ ). Theta brain waves allow the access to your subconsciousness. In this state, you can shift habits, beliefs, and emotional patterns more easily.
Yes — absolutely. You are always in control. Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state, not mind control. You can speak, move, or stop the session at any time.
You are always in control. In case you don’t hear me for about a couple of minutes during the session, you will be able to leave the trance state, open your eyes and reconnect using the same link.
We’ll explore more about your presenting issue and what changes you would like to achieve at the start of your session. This is still done under normal consciousness. Then, I’ll guide you into hypnosis. We’ll explore the root of your issue and reframe your beliefs and feelings. We are going to replace them with positive ones to mach your goals. The whole session lasts about 2 hours.
It depends on your goal. Some people see changes after one session, while others benefit from a short series. We’ll talk about what’s best for you.
As long as you are able to fall asleep, you are able to be hypnotised. Hypnosis is all about changing the brainwaves. Hypnotic state is similar to the one just before you fall asleep. You don’t need any special ability, just a desire to create change.
